This record results of the love of punk rock and the work of
eight kids, boys and girls, coming from France and the USA.
There is no bullshit such as a record label company with a business plan, no
contractsnobody in charge of promotion , no money spention advertissement... Just a group of kids who are trying to get along, trust eachother
write songs, play music and spread ideas around. For the sake of enjoying ourselves, because of the importance we give to do-it-yourself punk
as a key to make the world we live in a better place, and make us better persons in the process. To contribute to positive change by creating
& building something together. We do not have a lot money, if any, and we don't know how to handle some all of this, but we're doing our best
with our hearts and minds, and we will learn as we go.
What we would like to explain here is that if we achieved this project, then
anyone else can do it too. And the current tendency for punk labels to become professional is ruining the efforts made by others to make people
understand that they also have a creative potential and that they should have a faith in themselves. Fuck the myth of knowledge & talent necessary
to do things like write songs, play in a band, paint, release records, book gigs, etc. We know what self-depreciation means, we have our faire
share of insecurities. And let's hope that we will never forget how bad & destructive such feelings can be, and learn to care about our peers
experiences, feelings and passions. Learn to leave enough space here for people who face prejudice on a regular basis and who have, in our opinion, a
huge role to play in the DIY punk thing. (like explaining how capitalism, in term of ideology, norms and morals, affects them in their daily
life.)
How does that relate to the "we are so professional" trend? Does the "entrepreneurial" way gives equal chance to everyone? There is no place for the losers and uncompetitive in such modele. To us, being profitable will never equals being enthousiastic and free, doing things with our friends for fun and because we find a deeper meaning in all of this. One of the main idea Defiance, Ohio talk about in their songs is the way we relate to eachother in our relationship, how we treat eachother and what we could to do become more caring, responsible individuals. This is very important to us and that's one of the things that moved us a lot at first. We hope that you know how beautiful it could be if we all made efforts to make this a better place, how important it is to believe in yourself and the people you love. We make a lot of mistake too, and are lucky enough to be amongst understanding friends. Let's not stop trying ok? Let's not give up.
